Elizabeth M. Apolinski, 90, of Kailua Kona died Sept. 4. Born in Chicago, Ill., she was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW-Chicago and St. Michael’s the Archangel Catholic Church in Kailua Kona. Friends may call at 1 p.m. Thursday for a 2 p.m. funeral service at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Holualoa, with burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park. Survived by son, John (Linda) Apolinski of Park Ridge, Ill.; daughter, Elizabeth Apolinski Lee (Randy Lee) of Kailua-Kona; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Arrangements by A Hui Hou Crematory & Funeral Home of West Hawaii.

Heta Tuifua, 47, of Hilo died on Sept. 8 at home. Born in Tongatapu, Tonga, she was a member of the First Tongan Assemblies of God. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Friday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Service at 12 p.m. with burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua Section at 2 p.m. Casual attire. Survived by parents, the Rev. Uili and the Rev.‘ Lolita Tuifua of Hilo; brothers, Tau‘ese Tuifua and Pohiva Tuifua, both of Tonga, Maki Teli of Texas, and Sateki Tuifua of Hilo; sisters, Tala (Hare) Eteuati and Ofa (Levale) DeMont, both of Oahu, Saane (Soane) Vena of Hilo, and Sara Tuifua of Tonga; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary Isabelle Walling, 84, of Volcano died on Sept. 9 at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Oakland, Calif., she was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Everett, Wash., and was the former president of the Guild. Interment will be held at the Evergreen-Washelli in Seattle, Wash. Survived by daugthers, Cheryl I. Nelson of Volcano, Billie (Leon) Villarrubia of Aracadia, Calif., and Julie (Roy) Pemberton of Everett, Wash.; son, Larry (Becky) Walling of Kalispell, Mont.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services for Rose V. Alip, 71, of Kailua-Kona will be held at the Honokaa Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., followed by burial at the Honokaa County Cemetery. Incorrect information appeared in a previously published obituary. The Tribune-Herald regrets the error.
